Terms of Service
By using Finnypal ("the app"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. The Service
Finnypal is a personal finance tracking application that helps you manually log income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and budgets. The app is provided free of charge with no subscription tiers.
Finnypal does NOT:
- Connect to your bank accounts or any financial institution
- Provide investment, tax, or legal advice
- Process payments or transfer money
- Lend money or facilitate lending
2. Your Account
To use Finnypal, you must create an account using either email/password or Google Sign-In. You are responsible for:
- Keeping your login credentials secure
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Providing accurate information during signup
You must be at least 13 years old to use Finnypal. If you are under 18, you should review these Terms with your parent or guardian.
You must notify us immediately at support@finnypal.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
3. Your Data
You retain full ownership of all data you enter into Finnypal. We act only as a custodian of that data. You can:
- Export your data at any time via CSV
- Delete your account and data from the App settings or by contacting us
- Edit or remove any transaction or category

4. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Use Finnypal for illegal purposes
- Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or scrape the app
- Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the service
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers or infrastructure
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
5. No Financial Advice
Finnypal is a tracking tool, not a financial advisor. The financial health score, budget alerts, and any insights provided are for informational purposes only and do not constitute financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Decisions about your finances should be made with appropriate professional guidance.
6. Pricing
Finnypal is currently offered free of charge. There are no paid tiers, subscriptions, or in-app purchases. If we ever introduce paid features in the future, existing free features will remain free, and we will provide advance notice.
7. Service Availability
We strive to keep Finnypal available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The app may be unavailable due to:
- Maintenance or updates
- Server issues at our hosting provider (Supabase)
- Internet connectivity problems
- Force majeure events
We are not liable for losses resulting from service interruptions.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Finnypal and its developers are not liable for:
- Loss of data, even though we take reasonable backup measures
- Errors in the financial calculations or insights provided
- Damages arising from your use of the app
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Unauthorised access to your account due to your failure to secure your credentials
- Any third-party services integrated with the App (e.g., Google, Supabase)
You use Finnypal at your own risk. The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
9. Intellectual Property
The Finnypal name, logo, and app design are the intellectual property of Finnypal. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on these without our prior written consent. The data you enter belongs to you.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Finnypal and its developers from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the App, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.
11. Termination
- By You: You can stop using Finnypal at any time by deleting your account from the App settings.
- By Us: We can suspend or terminate your account for violations of these terms or for legal reasons. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before taking such action.
Upon termination, your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.
